A zip cover in printed Liberty fabric. Michelle is a floral first issued in 1933, drawn by the artist known as DS, who also gave Liberty its Betsy and Wiltshire patterns. It scatters small flowers across the cloth in pale pink, orange and vermilion through to pale navy and sky blue, so it reads as busy and soft rather than as one dominant colour.
The cloth is Tana Lawn, Liberty's own finely finished cotton, which is what gives the print its depth and the cover its hand. The zip carries a pale yellow leather pull and the same yellow leather lines the inside, which lifts the whole thing. The pen hook holds a pen by its clip.
