The Weeks is Hobonichi's slim, pocketable planner: a weekly horizontal spread on the left, a full page of grid memo on the right, in a book narrow enough to live in a jacket pocket. This one was made with art director Yoshie Watanabe, who is behind the fashion brand CACUMA. Small flowers in many colours are woven into a deep navy fabric rather than printed onto it, which gives the cover a soft, slightly formal look.

A single red line runs across the front and the back as an accent. The year is foiled in black on the spine, subtle enough to catch only at an angle, and Watanabe's signature is on the back in the same black foil. Because the flowers are part of the weave, their placement shifts a little from book to book.

Features

  • Japanese edition, January start, Monday start

  • Flowers woven into navy fabric, so each book's placement differs slightly

  • Black foil year and Watanabe's signature on the back

  • Slim at 188 x 94 x 11 mm (7.4 x 3.7 x 0.4 in), narrow enough for a jacket pocket

  • Light hardcover with a little give, stitch-bound so it packs flat

  • Tomoe River paper, thin and light but resistant to feathering and bleed with fountain pen ink

  • A clear adhesive corner pocket is included, to stick wherever you want the storage
