Hobonichi Weeks 2027 (Japanese): Moomin - A Day in the Life of Snufkin

The Weeks is Hobonichi's slim, pocketable planner: a weekly horizontal spread on the left, a full page of grid memo on the right, in a book narrow enough to live in a jacket pocket. This one gives the cover over to Snufkin, who spends it doing exactly as he likes: fishing, playing his mouth organ, and here and there sharing a scene with Moomintroll. The drawing sits on a deep green ground and runs across the whole book.

The cover is genuine necktie fabric, so every part of the scene is woven rather than printed, and bronze lame thread is worked into the ornaments on Snufkin's hat so they catch the light. The year is foil-pressed in gold. Moomin was created in 1945 by the Finnish-Swedish writer and artist Tove Jansson.
