The Weeks is Hobonichi's slim, pocketable planner, and this cover reproduces an embroidered work by Daisuke Tanaka, the costume designer and embroidery artist behind tanakadaisuke. Starlight builds a moon and a scattered galaxy out of beads, sequins and bijoux, all sewn by hand, then prints that piece at techo scale with touches of silver foil.
The moon gets its glow from the shapes and gradations of the individual beads rather than from any light of its own, which is the trick of the original and survives the printing. Held in the hand it reads as a small night sky.
