The Weeks is Hobonichi's slim, pocketable planner, and this is illustrator Yumi Kitagishi's fourth cover for Hobonichi. The pattern is built like wallpaper: a white cat, two swans in formal dress, a black cat in a maid's uniform and a grand house, repeating across the book. Dollhouse interiors are a recurring subject in her work, and the cover reads as one.
The year, a thin line of small flowers and leaves down the spine, and a ribbon with lily of the valley are all foil-pressed in matte gold, which keeps the shine low and the drawing forward.
