The Weeks is Hobonichi's slim, pocketable planner, and this edition comes from Natal Design, a Tokyo apparel brand started in 1999 by Koji Tsukada and Shinsuke Goto that works across clothing and camping gear. Its Lucky Swallow motif covers the book end to end, swallows being birds of good fortune, printed across a flat black ground.
The swallows carry a texture applied only to them, so the pattern is something you feel as well as see. The spine is a vivid turquoise against all that black, and the brand's logo and its statement of intent are foil-pressed in gold on the front and back.
