Hobonichi Blotting Paper: TSUKI no IRO

Blotting paper for anyone writing in wet ink: lay a sheet over what you have just written and it lifts the excess, so the facing page stays clean and nothing smears when the book shuts. The stock is thick, absorbent and quick-drying.

The design is a good joke on the product's function. It is printed with loose pen-drawn lines and ink blots, so as your own ink builds up across it the sheet keeps looking like itself, only more so; it is one of the few things that improves with use rather than wearing out. It is letterpress printed, which gives it a surface you can feel and small differences from sheet to sheet, with silver foil catching here and there.
